Blum Earns Gender Equality Certification, Reports Strong 2024 Growth

Blum has earned the UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification for gender equality, demonstrating its commitment to equity and inclusion both within the company and in its relationships with external stakeholders. This achievement follows last year’s statutory revision that transformed Blum into a benefit corporation, formalizing its mission to generate social value alongside economic profit.
“For us, gender equality is a strategic goal that drives sustainable growth and innovation within our organizational model, but it is also a fundamental ethical value,” explains Luca Barbieri, managing partner at Blum. “This certification is the result of valuable work coordinated by a dedicated gender equality task force and shared with the entire team. It marks a crucial starting point for continuing to build a company where every individual feels valued and fulfilled through a strong framework for dialogue and evaluation.”
Blum’s “cultural and organizational” approach to achieving gender equality spans several key areas. These include recruitment and hiring, ensuring fairness and alignment with company values from the outset; career management, with measures to recognize talent impartially, prevent gender-related pay gaps (even indirect ones), and provide continuous training and development opportunities; and support for parenthood and caregiving, facilitated by flexible work arrangements. Blum has embraced remote work for several years, allowing team members full autonomy in managing their schedules. The company also promotes inclusive internal and external communication and remains committed to preventing and addressing harassment and abuse.
Blum’s Growth and Future Goals
The new certification was awarded between 2024 and 2025, symbolically bridging the company’s present and future. Blum closed 2024 with revenue of €1.7 million, marking an increase from the previous year and further strengthening its position in the market for innovative SMEs.
“2024 laid the foundation for an ambitious growth plan,” Barbieri continues, “which will solidify our role in the national technology transfer landscape as facilitators of a highly practical innovation model. Businesses in our country are proving that technological innovation is not something distant from everyday life—it actively enhances it, delivering tangible solutions that deserve to be effectively communicated and recognized.”
