Argotec: Exporting Italian Excellence Through Microsatellites
Argotec is an Italian aerospace company specializing in the design, production, and monitoring of microsatellites. It serves governmental, scientific, and commercial clients, and partners with major international agencies including ESA, ASI, and NASA. Notably, NASA selected Argotec as one of only four companies worldwide—and the only non-American one—to supply satellites and related space services under its prestigious Rapid Spacecraft Acquisition Services program.
In 2022, Argotec received the prestigious “Mission of the Year” award from the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) for its LICIACube mission. It remains the only Italian company to have sent an Italian satellite so deep into space, and the sole company to have simultaneously managed two satellites operating in deep space. Additionally, in 2025 Argotec achieved another milestone by launching the first satellite of IRIDE, Italy’s first Earth observation constellation. That same year, the company set a European record by launching seven IRIDE satellites into space simultaneously—the highest number ever deployed in a single batch.
Argotec closed 2024 with a revenue of €35.4 million, marking its third consecutive year of record double-digit growth (over 50%). Currently, the company employs more than 250 people across Europe and the United States. It maintains a fully Italian, in-house production model, capable of manufacturing up to 50 satellites per year.
